A beautiful day welcomed folks to the 38th annual BRR Ride.

Over 800 pre-registered and an estimated 3,000 in town for the event. Some came in Friday evening and stayed at the Hotel Pattee, or with friends.

Cyclists did not have any problems navigating the mostly-clear, but wet, roads to Rippey and back. The temperatures and winds were mild as compared to some years. You could see cyclists hanging outside all over today all weekend.

There was Live Music and entertainment at the hill (about 1/2 way) as was the hot chocolate stop.

Riders could quench their thirst and warm up at the tent in Rippey and several local establishments once they got back to Perry.

The Perry Area Chamber of Commerce hosts the 38th Annual BRR - Bike Ride to Rippey

This annual 24-mile round trip bike ride from Perry to Rippey and back rolls on regardless of the weather.

Known as the “Original WINTER Bike Ride”, BRR riders have experienced frigid temperatures and wind chills while plowing through a foot of snow and have also enjoyed spring like temperatures of 60 degrees! Attendance has grown every year with riders and guests attending from all over Iowa and the country.

Hosted by the Perry Area Chamber of Commerce, BRR is a frozen-filled day of biking, prizes and entertainment.

Registration

Registration, pre-registration pick-up, t-shirts & additional merchandise and Lion’s Club Breakfast all at the Hotel Pattee, 1112 Willis Ave in beautiful downtown Perry, IA.

Packet pick up is at the Hotel Pattee opens at 7:30 a.m.

Day of Registration starts at 7:30 a.m. 

Crooked Rail Entertainment

Friday night 10 pm -1 am Hearts of Hedons play at the bar featuring Perry's own rock god Brendan "Golden Pipes" McKnight

Saturday: open at 8 am; DJ all day/night; food under tent starting at noon (burgers, chicken, tenderloins, fries); ½ gallon jugs of beer are back

Sat - Biscuits and Gravy in the morining, spaghetti with a salad and pulled pork in the afternoon

Rippey Entertainment

Lions Club will be selling Hot BEEF SUNDAES!!!  That's right you read it. HOT BEEF SUNDAES!!

The Rippey Fire Department will have the big tent again with beer, food and music!  Open 11 am to 4 pm.  Stop in and support Rippey!

Post Party

New this year is the post BRR Ride Party at La Poste!  Live music from the Raccoon River Boys, soup supper, cash bar.  Registered riders get special pricing!

Route

Downtown Perry to downtown Rippey and back. 24 miles round trip on all hard surfaced county roads.
