The Decorah Rotary is excited to host this brand race on the Trout Run
Trail! Participants can choose to walk or run the 5K, run the 1/2 Marathon OR
turn the marathon race into a relay with teammates of your choice. Early

"400 Block Juggernaut" Community Party
Sat, Sept. 22 | 3pm | South alley of the 400 block of
W. Water St
The best way to cool down after a marathon is to P-A-R-T-Y!!!! Show off your
skills on the obstacle course and then join the bike ride/scavenger hunt on
Trout Run Trail. Return to the 400 Block for live music, delicious food and
drink specials. Earn points completing challenges for a chance to win fabulous
prizes!
Decorah Open Streets
Sun, Sept. 23 | 11am - 3pm | Claiborne Drive in downtown Decorah
Open Streets is back for the second event of 2012. This celebration is held on
streets that are "car-free" and open for activities of all kinds -
dancing, biking, jogging, games and more. It's Northeast
Iowa's largest block party! More details and photos from their

Trout Run Trail's GRAND OPENING
Sun afternoon | Sept. 23
This is the culmination of the entire weekend. All are welcome to share
in the celebration at these special events:
Art Piece Dedications
"Trout Run Trail Mosaic," created by Dean Schwarz and given by the
Kleckner Family will be honored at 1pm at the Decorah Fish Hatchery.
"Walking With Birds," created by Doug Freeman and given by the Bakken
Family will be honored at 2pm along the Dug Road Trail.
Formal Trail Dedication & Donor Recognition Program
3:30pm | Decorah High School Auditorium
Major partners and landowners will be recognized for their financial, technical
and volunteer support. Guests will enjoy live music from Lucas Blekeberg and
the Bread and Butter String Band, a video of all trail segments and special
recognition of individuals and businesses who played a special role in the
development of the trail.
Honorary Walk or Bike Ride
4:30pm | Trout Run Trail
Following the program is an Honorary Walk/Bike ride to new Hwy 9 Bridge.
Participants will be directed to the trail near the dike and will head west to
the new bridge.
Ribbon Cutting Ceremony
5:30pm | New Hwy 9 Bridge
This is it! Once the ribbon is cut,the trail will officially be open.
The public is welcome to join in the final celebration for the weekend. Members
of the media are encouraged to attend as well. Special recognition will be
given to major bridge donors, Decorah Bank & Trust and Ronald and Kathy
"Sylvanus" Dehning Family. Some parking is available at the
new trail parking lot on the south side of the new bridge. Overflow parking is
welcome at the Country Inn & Suites (Frontage Rd).
*In the case of rain, the Honorary Walk/Bike Ride and Ribbon Cutting will be
held indoors at the High School Auditorium.
