2021 has been, without a doubt, the biggest year we’ve had in a long time when it comes to accomplishments, new partnerships, and effectiveness. As bicyclists, we are starting to enjoy the fruits of our years of investment and cultivation that has only become possible thanks to bicyclists like you. Thank you for being there for us time and time again.

We are now less than 8 weeks away from the January 10th start date of the 89th Iowa General Assembly 2022 Iowa legislative session. We have a big opportunity this year to pass our bike and traffic safety legislation and secure a radically more advantageous trail funding appropriations package that could see trail projects completed in years rather than decades.

As the year winds down, ensuring we have the funding to make it through the legislative session and the first part of the year is essential. We’ve worked hard this year to get partners together to provide challenge grants to make your contribution go further.

Earlier this week, we heard from Fred and Charlotte Hubbell that they want to give us $25,000 as a matching grant for 2021. That means starting today, any new donation that comes in will go towards unlocking those funds. All donations starting now are 100% matched for a double impact. If you’ve been waiting to give, now is the time.

After that announcement, we got a phone call from the Reichardt family who want to double the end of year challenge grant with a $25,000 Reichardt Family Gift bringing the total we need to raise by the end of the year to $50,000. This funding can radically increase the impact bicyclists have in our state. We can’t thank the Hubbell and Reichardt families enough for their commitment to bike advocacy. Let’s show them we’re ready for it. The next $50,000 donated is all matched dollar for dollar.
