A judge immediately sentenced Bob Christensen to two years probation.
~~~~~
William Shepard, 55, died after being struck by a vehicle on Old Lincoln Highway near Northline Drive around 2:10 a.m. May 11, 2019.According to an affidavit, a caller reported finding a man unresponsive in the grass that had been riding a bicycle.
Shepard was transported to a hospital where he was pronounced dead.
Prosecutors said Christensen left the scene then drove back in a different vehicle.
His trial was scheduled to start Tuesday.
No further information is available at this time.
BIKEIOWA NOTE
We are appalled at this weak sentencing.
If you recall our past posts - Bob didn't stop after he hit William. After the hit and run (killing William), Bob returned to the scene in a different vehicle and didn't stop a second time and then he finally contacted police 5 hours later!
Ironically, on this same day a Des Moines man was sentenced to TWO YEARS in jail for beating and beheading a rabbit at an animal shelter last December.
What is wrong with our justice system ???
