Long-discussed changes to University Avenue in Windsor Heights are finally becoming areality.
The city is moving ahead with a plan to reconstruct a 10-block stretch of University Avenue into a three-lane street,with one lane of traffic in each direction plus a center turn lane.

The changes — meant to make the city's main drag more business- and pedestrian-friendly — are estimated tocost $6.5 million

In addition to reducingthe corridor to three lanes, more changes are aimed at making the area safer for pedestrians and cyclists.
