In Ottumwa bicyclist escaped serious injury Wednesday after he was hit by a car.
The accident happened just after 7 p.m. at the intersection of Jefferson and Main streets.
Sgt. Justin Rice tells KTVO the car was turning north onto Jefferson Street as the bike was southbound on Jefferson. Witnesses say the car had the right of way when the bike crossed into its path.
The cyclist was taken to Ottumwa Regional Health Center with non-life-threatening injuries.
The cause of the crash is under investigation, and citations are pending.
