The City of Cedar Rapids is in the process of repainting their lane restrictions and other road markings all across the city during their annual lane cleanup.

"We are painting lines to divide traffic in the proper lanes. We paint through October as long as the sun is out and there is good conditions to paint," Pat Keating, the city's traffic control supervisor said.

The pavement needs to be completely dry for paint to actually stick and Keating said despite the weather this year including the long winter and lots of rain, everything is on schedule and they have started the painting process within the normal average date. Ideal conditions include a sunny day with temperatures at around 70 degrees and a light breeze to help the paint dry.
