The Sioux City Parks and Recreation Department is proposing a new construction project along Hamilton Boulevard.
The plan is called “The Perry Creek Trail Connection Project.”
The trail connection would consist of an eight-foot-wide trail along Hamilton Boulevard, from Stone Park Boulevard to 36th street.
It would also include five-foot bicycle lanes on each side of Hamilton Boulevard, from 36th street to Outer Drive North.
If approved, they would be Sioux City’s first designated bicycle lanes.
Every major city in the state of Iowa has bicycle lanes.
