Did you know that 1 out of 5 children in Iowa do not have enough to eat?

26 teams signed up for Relaycross on Sunday, Oct 26th at Stone Park in Des Moines with hopes to raise food for a good cause - the Food Bank of Iowa. And raise food they did!

Volunteers said folks were just driving up, donating food, and leaving.

The cost to participate? - One bag of food!

Racing in circles for 2 hours and three truck loads of food later, the participants were given high-fives as the BIKEIOWA Cycling Team tore down the course and heard over to el Bait Shop for a post party celebration where even more food was donated.

A Heartfelt thanks to everyone that came out to support Relay Cross. 104 people took time out of their day to have fun and support a good cause. Three truck loads of food and goods were donated for the Food Bank of Iowa.

People like you and events like this are what make our community so damn good.

THANK YOU!

About Relaycross

Relaycross, powered by BikeIowa Cycling Team, is the first of it's kind event in our state and it's all to benefit the Food bank of Iowa. What is Relaycross? The format is simple. 2 hours of cross racing with 4 teammates tagging in and out to pile on as many laps a possible before time runs out. The team with the most laps wins. Three categories: mens, womens and coed(2 men 2 women) This race is designed to be as serous or leisurely as you want. You and your team can race all out or at a conversational pace.
