Des Moines’ Only Groundhog Day Celebration Tradition Continues on February 2nd

High Life Lounge Adds a Bike Ride to Their Eighth Annual Grand Opening Party

Des Moines, IA

The High Life Lounge will celebrate its eighth anniversary on Groundhog
Day - Thursday, February 2 with a party starting at 6 a.m. The
celebration kicks off with the annual prediction by Polk County Paula at
daybreak (approx. 7:30.) Free Miller High Life will be given to those
in attendance from 6-8 a.m. and the prediction will be authenticated by
officials from Iowa Beverage Systems including President, Mike
Brewington and Greg Edwards from the Des Moines Convention &

Punxsutawney Phil in Pennsylvania every year.

A nod to the popular Bill Murray movie Groundhog Day, the
Eighth Annual Grand Opening festivities will also include a Woodchuck
Bike Ride for the first time. Breakfast will be served all morning and
Miller High Life specials will be featured all day and night.

“We
look forward to this day every year and it has become a tradition for
many of our best customers.” Said High Life Lounge co-owner Jeff
Bruning. “It’s the perfect excuse to call in sick for a mid-week break.”
He added.

Featured on the Travel Channel’s Man vs. Food
program and known for “down home” cooking as well as their vintage beer
selection, the High Life Lounge will serve breakfast until 11:00
featuring Biscuits & High Life Gravy ($4), Quiche Paula ($4) and all
you can eat pancakes for $5. Drink specials will also be offered
throughout the day.
