NEW HAMPTON - The TriMark Corporation of New Hampton has donated $1,000 to the Pave the Way Campaign to help cover the cost of paving the 22-mile bike trail that runs through Howard and Winneshiek Counties. TriMark officials indicated that the company is pleased to donate the money towards the paving project recognizing the importance of a paved trail for the physical well being of its employees and for the rest of Northeast Iowa. These funds will help the Pave the Way Campaign Committee meet the 180 day goal of raising $114,900 which is a requirement for receiving the $450,000 Community Attractions grant that was recently approved. The Campaign Committee is appreciative of this donation and of the generous financial support from others that has been received to date. The committee encourages others that are considering a contribution, to do so to help in ensuring that the project of paving the Prairie Farmer trail can be completed by the end of this fall. Contributions can be sent to the Calmar Pave the Way Campaign, P.O. Box 460, Calmar, IA, 52132.
