Who doesn’t love a little rivalry… a little competition between friends and supporting a great cause while you’re doing it?
We do! And that’s why we want you to join us for the 2nd annual East-West Groveler Race. Using the Platte River as our divide, you will be able to register to join the East team or the West team depending on which side of the river you live.
When: Saturday, October 17th, 2020
Where: Parker's Smokehouse 16880 US-6, Ashland, NE
Time: Race starts at 10:00 am; racer check-in begins at 8:30 am
Course: 40 miles (GPX Coming Soon)
Divisions: East - racers living east of Platte River, West - racers living on west of Platte River
Fees: $30 per racer (until 12:00 pm on Oct 16th) $40 day of (cash or check)
We WILL NOT be taking credit cards on race day registrations.
Rules: The Team with the lowest number of points wins! Once registration closes, team size will be set by the lowest number of participants signed up for the east or west team. Finishers receive a point equal to their finish position. As a bonus for some of our diehard riders, a point will be subtracted for single speed category, fat tire, and to encourage our female friends to get out and ride gravel with us, female team finishers. All riders need to be back by 2:00 PM to be assigned points. Tiebreaker will go to the largest team, so everyone counts! The highest-scoring team will be groveling about their gravel loss until next year!!
Post Race: Join us for a post-race party at Parker's where we will announce our 2020 winner. fees included 1 sandwich, 2 sides, and a soda. Adult beverages and additional meals will be available for purchase.
The East team won the inaugural race by a slight margin, bringing the trophy to the Omaha Trek Store. Will it remain there, or will the West team avenge their loss and take the trophy and bragging rights to Lincoln?
The Groveler is presented by Trek Omaha & Wear Yellow Nebraska. Proceeds will be donated to Wear Yellow Nebraska and designated for Lincoln services if the west team wins or Omaha if the east team wins.
