NUMB Ride for Hunger

NUMB 2020 will begin and end at Elkhorn Hills United Methodist Church. It was 25 years ago this summer that the first NUMB Ride embarked from Chadron on a nearly 400 mile trip to Elkhorn Hills UMC. 37 riders were on that first ride. None of us knew what to expect on that first NUMB Ride. We faced some challenges from the miles, terrain, weather and equipment, but eventually rolled into Elkhorn Hills. When this ride started we had a dream to marry the love of cycling with the cause of addressing world hunger. We did not know that NUMB would grow the way it has. We did not know we would continue for 25 years. We could not dream that from these humble beginning with 37 riders we would someday donate over $1,000,000 for hunger. Little did we dream of the hundreds and hundreds of bikers from all over the United States would come experience the ride and enjoy the unmatched fellowship of NUMB. The hungry have been fed, lives have been changed and friendships have been forged in our 25 year history. It is appropriate that this final NUMB start and end where the first NUMB ended so long ago. We have witnessed many miles with our NUMB friends. But more importantly, we have made a difference in this world.
