8th Annual AW SH*T RIDE
To relive the epic ride in 2010 that celebrated my 50th with an "easy" 50 mile ride on the High Trestle Trail.
Starting at 10:00 giving us plenty of time to visit the stops that have grown up along the route.
Why AW SH*T?

it's 3 months to BRR
(I am taking additional suggestions)
Start at the Ankeny trail head, out to the High Trestle Bridge (and back).
Easy pace, flat terrain, it's for fun.
Multiple potential rest/refreshment stops along the way. How many get used depends on weather and personal interest/need.
Dinner and libations following the ride at a location TBD.
Potential (as needed/wanted/etc) Refreshment Stops:
Ankeny Trail Head (1st Street) - roll out at 10:00.
Rest stop #1/8 - The Oasis (High Trestle Trail rest area) just north of Polk City - it has water, porta-potties and picnic tables with a shelter.
Rest stop #2/7 - Night Hawk Sports Bar Slater
Rest stop #3/6 - Flat Tire Lounge/Madrid Trail Head parking lot at the Highway 17 crossing.
Rest stop #4 - High Trestle Bridge.
Rest stop #5 - Cayannes in Woodward
Nobody is required to ride, you can meet us along the route or at one of the rest stops - or provide weather appropriate drinks at the Oasis or the crossing by the bridge.

Comments (1)
I've fielded a number of questions lately
about the ride, so I thought I'd post an
abbreviated FAQ here:
(0) Every rider is strictly, and solely, responsible
for themselves.
(1) This is not an "organized ride" beyond the
notifications here and/or on
https://www.facebook.com/events/1571370956235523/?active_tab=discussion
(2) There might (or might not) be some very
limited edition swag available around the
published start time.
(3) It is an unsupported ride, although there
are multiple locations the trail crosses the
roads for support purposes.
(4) If you are in a hurry you are doing it wrong.
(5) If you attend the ride, and leave without
meeting a new friend or two we all missed the
point.
(6) Smile. The worst day riding is better than
the best day at work.
(7) Treat the wait staff at the stops with respect
and tip them well. We want them around for
future rides of all types.
Thank you for your time and attention.
Now go RIDE!
