Altoona Road Riders will be hosting the 6th annual Tune-up ride on July 16th 2016. Multiple distances are available. The ride starts and ends at Brewhouse 25 this year. Registration at 7:30 am and ride begins at 8:30. Ride at your own pace through trails and varying terrain on roads as you make your way through beautiful eastern Polk County.. Relax afterwards and listen to the tunes at the Brewhouse. and enjoy your free lunch from the grill.

 There will be a Poker Ride along with Bike Raffle again this year. The raffle and poker ride winners will be announced at 4 pm. Need not be present to win the bike raffle.. Lunch will be free with your registration along with our famous  Al Tuna Dri fit t-shirt. ( Register by June 29 to get the T-Shirt) Go to Altoonatuneup.com for registration.

Enjoy some of the great cycling Eastern Polk County provides while you get a taste of the week long rider sponsored by the Des Moines Register. Each town provides an opportunity to stop at a Casey's or local watering holes.

Route

Starts at the Brewhouse 25 in Altoona and heads south on the Gay Lea Wilson trail through Pleasant Hill. Then on low traffic county roads to stops in Runnells, Mitchellville, Bondurant and back to Altoona. Options of 12 miles (trail only Pleasant hill and back), 44 miles (shortcut back from Mitchellville to Altoona), 54 miles ( back to Altoona from Bondurant by road) or 64 miles ( this option comes back from Bondurant by way of the Chichaqua Valley Trail and the Gay Lea Wilson Trail through Pleasant Hill)
