In a week, RAGBRAI riders are expected on the ride from Ames to Des Moines. The ride will go through Slater.
Slater has spent months planning for thousands of new visitors.
Taylor Christensen told KCCI he hit the jackpot when he discovered RAGBRAI riders will pass his e-bike rental store 'Local Spokes' on their way into Slater.
"We thrive on giving the people the opportunity to experience the high trestle trail and come here without the work of bringing a bike. So, this gives us the opportunity to do that and expose us to 100,000 riders," Christensen said.
