A woman's body was found Sunday morning after a biker spotted a vehicle that had crashed into a creek, according to the Polk County Sheriff's Office.

Deputies responded to a report of a sedan in Fourmile Creek at around 8 a.m., when a biker discovered the vehicle resting on its top while riding on a bike trail near the intersection of Northeast 54th Avenue and Northeast Berwick Drive.

Sgt. Brandon Bracelin of the Polk County Sheriff's Office told the Register Sunday evening that he wasn't sure when the vehicle entered the creek.

Bracelin said the vehicle was underwater.

"It was on its top in the creek 3 feet underwater," Bracelin said. "There was water in it, but not completely submerged. You couldn't see it from the roadway. A biker just saw it because he was on the trail right by the creek. You wouldn't be able to see it unless you got out and were walking around."
