The City of Bettendorf’s Bicycle and Pedestrian Advisory Committee (BBPAC) has been working with the Bettendorf Rotary Club to install new bike racks at Middle and Hollowview Parks to make cycling access easier.

The Rotary Club had applied for and received a $1,000 grant from the Rotary International and matched it with another $1,000 from their own club to help purchase 11 new bike racks.

The City of Bettendorf provided the balance of funds and assistance needed to purchase and install the 11 bike racks. The bike racks are of a quality design and include at least one at each location with the City’s Logo!

Nine of those racks were installed and dedicated on Thursday, July 14th at the Middle Park Lagoon.

The BBPAC Committee is a volunteer group that was formed 2 years ago to help foster enhanced safe pedestrian and cycling access for the citizens of Bettendorf throughout the Community. The Bettendorf Rotary Club is part of an International service organization and has over 100 members. The partnership between the Rotary Club and City is a great example of the private/public partnerships that enhances the quality of life for our citizens!

Thanks for all who helped make this happen!
