PERRY, Iowa, Jan. 12, 2016 --The two-day bicycling & music festival "Pedaler's Jamboree," which seemed a popular event when it was held on the Raccoon River Valley Trail this past Labor Day weekend, won't be repeated on the RRVT in 2016, the director of the festival's sponsoring company has decided.

Michael Denehy, of Columbia, Mo., who owns the promotional company Off Track Events, notified RRVT officials by email today that "we plan to relocate the ride to another trail in 2016," possibly the Wabash Trace Nature Trail in southwest Iowa.

"Unfortunately, the level of both financial and crew/volunteer member commitment in making the event a safe, enjoyable and outstanding event is beyond the level that Off Track Events can provide at this point of time," Denehy wrote. "These commitments include monitoring all the intersections on the route, hiring the appropriate law enforcement and getting all of the permits, logistics and the many expenses that come with working on setting up (music) events in the dozen communities along the route."
