It’s been roughly two years since the wheels started turning on a local bike share system and as this semester at Iowa State University comes to a close, the project is one step closer to becoming a reality.

“It’s come a long ways and we’re really close to going to production,” said Mark Kargol, lecturer in the industrial design department at ISU.

The campus bike share system originally began when ISU student Jordan Maurice studied transportation on campus as part of a senior project. He presented the research to the former ISU Government of the Student Body (GSB), which soon added it to a list of sustainability projects on campus.
