As you may know, Survivor Cross takes place after the Living History Farms Cross Country Race at Living History Farms in Urbandale. Thsi year it was suppossed to be November 21st. The gritty race brings back the old-school nature of cyclocross with knee deep mud and hills ya gotta pull yourself up with a rope.

Ownership has changed and increased costs has forced the event to be cancelled.

This was one of the best grass-roots events in Central Iowa. We are sad to see it cancelled this year, but we are assured that One Race Events did everything in their power to try and make it happen.

From race organizer Steve Cannon

I HATE writing this. Out of all the events I put on, this was my favorite (and first). Living History Farms and it's management have made it impossible to continue the event. On a day when they already have the grounds paid for with the LHF trail run they now want to charge us $4000 to hold our event there from 1-5 pm. $4000 for four hours?!?!

To give you an idea, this is up from $1500 just two years ago and we would have to sign a 3 year contract to guarantee this "special" price. I have never been so upset with a local organization. I am apparently not the first to have an unpleasant experience dealing with them.

Thank you all for being a part of this event.....I really believed it would go on and on for years. It was a truly unique event and we loved watching you all play!!
