From City of Clive MONDAY JULY 6:

CLIVE, Iowa – Clive Greenbelt and Road Closure Due to Flooding

The City of Clive has temporarily closed Swanson Boulevard between NW 94th Street and Harbach Boulevard due to local flooding. There is a possibility that a small amount of flood water may begin to pool on Lincoln Ave at 93rd Court, but the City does not expect anything significant on Lincoln at this time.

The Clive Greenbelt and Trail system has been closed as flood waters have covered most of the trail. The City expects Walnut Creek to crest at approximately 9.5 feet at Interstate 80/35 sometime this evening as no additional heavy rain is expected. If conditions change the City will provide additional notifications and updates.

If flooding occurs, the City reminds residents to stay out of flood waters. Flood waters can be unpredictable, higher than expected, and hiding dangerous objects below the surface. If you must drive, always avoid driving vehicles through flooded streets and find an alternative route.

When the flood waters recede the City will provide notification when the above named street is reopened to normal traffic conditions.
