PeopleForBikes, a national bicycle advocacy organization, has challenged Iowa to recruit 10,000 people that support bicycling to sign up for a free membership in the organization. If they reach the 10,000 member goal, they will donate $10,000 to the Iowa Bicycle Coalition.

Almost 2,500 people have signed up for the PeopleForBikes membership, reaching almost a quarter of the people needed. It is simple to signup and you only need to fill out name, email, and zip code. Sign up at http://www.peopleforbikes.org/ragbrai

“You don’t have to be a big bicyclist to support PeopleForBikes,” says Mark Wyatt, executive director of the Iowa Bicycle Coalition. “If you have friends or relatives that ride bikes, or simply want to see more kids riding bicycles to school, or more trails, join PeopleForBikes.”

The $10,000 donation has been earmarked by the Iowa Bicycle Coalition for traffic safety and the “Change Lanes To Pass Bikes” campaign.

Sign the form at www.PeopleForBikes.org/RAGBRAI, ask a few friends to do the same, and help make bicycling better for everyone.
