The Sauk Rail Trail approximately 2.3 miles south of Lake View is now closed.
The cracked concrete on the levee in Black Hawk marsh will be removed and replaced. The section of closed trail is just less than one mile.
Trail users coming from the north can bypass the work area by using county road M68(right next to the trail) and then taking the gravel access road back to the trail on the south end of the marsh.
The trail is only expected to be closed a couple of weeks and will be fully open for the 3rd Annual Ride the Rail (Celebrating Breda Style) on June 15th.
Sac County is investing $25,000 into this project to keep the trail safe for many years to come.
