from ICORR's newsletter...

It’s been another great year at the Sugar Bottom Trails.

Thanks to all those who came out to help with trail work this year. We got an all new 104 trail in the spring, and got major fixes done on 102 and 201 and got a whole new trail section, 104X, in the fall. You probably notice many orange flags in some areas. There are a number of trail fixes being planned for next year as well, such as the 301 chronic muddy spot at the end of 302, the end of 302 rough area, a new 204X, fixes on 101, … the list goes on. When people come out to support, we can put in trail.

Also, many thanks to all who joined ICORR and made donations at the trailhead boxes or on the web site. We wereable to get somenew tools tohelp with the trails, including a new mower, new Rogue Hoes, and an extended reach hedge trimmer to get at the long thornyvines. These items really reduce the time and effort it takes to make trails and keep the trails in good shape during the summer.

The weather was generally kind to us. Time trials and the Xterra event were a great success. The Sugar Bottom Scramble original date had a cancellation due to weather, but was able to get rescheduled and had a great turnout.

Watch for the announcement of our winter party. Hope to see you there.

About ICORR
The Iowa Coalition of Off-Road Riders (ICORR) is a volunteer-based, non-profit organization formed to promote, preserve, and improve mountain bike trail access in Iowa.

ICORR needs to log 600 volunteer hours of trail work and 200 volunteer hours of patrol each year to keep the Sugar Bottom trails open for bikes. This is under a contract with the land owner: The US Army Corps of Enginners, which is signed each year.

So if you ride the trails, help support them too! Join ICORR
