Camp Ingawanis is once again in danger of being sold!
Camp Ingawanis is located south of Waverly.
Recently the National Office of Boy Scouts of America informed the Winnebago
Council that they needed to improve their financial sustainability. The
Council formed a task force to assess the situation. This group produced
some options to address the financial problems, all of which involve
the sale of Ingawanis. We feel there must be alternatives that do not
require the sale of the Council’s most valuable capital investments.
Furthermore, the loss of this flagship program would be detrimental to
Scouting in the region.
We invite you to examine the task force documents and read and sign the
petition on this website. Any ideas you may have which could help
maintain the Scouting program in Eastern Iowa would also be welcome.
