The Bristol-Myers Squibb Tour of Hope™ is a week-long journey across America by a team of 20 people who have been touched by cancer. The team is riding across Iowa on October 5th & 6th!

Next month 20 cyclists will bike across the country to raise awareness of cancer and cancer clinical trials, like those happening at the University of Iowa. It's called the Tour of Hope and Lance Armstrong is endorsing it, and will join riders for parts of the ride. Colleen Reardon Chapleau, a cyclist from Iowa City who works at the University of Iowa Hospitals, tells KIMT NewsChannel Three, "Lance Armstrong is a perfect example of someone who benefited from a clinical trial. He's a cancer survivor and he's a survivor because of the people who came before him."
The team enters Iowa in Atlantic around 10pm on Tuesday and makes their way up to Mason City around 10am. They continue east bound until they hit Monona and then into Wisconsin PM Route for Tuesday, October 5th AM Route for Wednesday, October 6th PM Route for Wednesday, October 6th The Whole Route

Collen goes on to explain, "The point is really to raise awareness about cancer clinical trials and to help people realize that we can defeat cancer and the way to do it is through clinical trials." We'll bring you coverage of the event when the ride comes through Mason City during the first week of October. For more information on the Tour of Hope, go to the Tour of Hope website. Note: Riders are not allowed to join the Tour of Hope Team on the Rider. Roads are not closed.
