Two Days of Capital City Cross is back! Sept 25th and 26th Des Moines will host the first two races of the 2010 Central Iowa Cyclocross Series Updated 9/23/10 11:30 pm: VENUE CHANGE - Now racing at Ewing Park!

VENUE CHANGE

RAIN has forced a change of venue for Capital City Cross. Racing will now happen at Ewing Park on the south east side of Des Moines near Easter Lake. All races will still start at the same times, we will just be a different location.

Capital City Cross

Capital City Cross is the first two races of the 2010 Central Iowa Cyclocross Series. You will have a blast if you race or just come and watch. The race is hosted by the BIKEIOWA.com Cycling Team, is Powered by Scheels and held Des Moines, IA on Sept 25th and 26th. Capital City Cross is proud to be a part of the seven race series around Central Iowa.

EWING PARK

Ewing Park is less than 5 miles from downtown Des Moines off SE 14th Street on E. McKinley Ave. Ewing Park is home to the Greater Des Moines Soap Box Derby Association and Ewing Park BMX. Click on race details for directions.
  • SAT, Sept 25th - The Race course will be marked on Saturday morning. There will not a bad seat in the house to watch this race! Parking lots are available off McKinley Ave. Stay around for the after-party at el Bait Shop, the bike-friendliest bar in Des Moines! Race Details
  • SUN, Sept 26th - Same Park, Different Race Course! Plan on flats, hills, switch-backs, sand, park roads, downhills, run-ups, barriers and much more! Everything you'd expect in a Cyclocross race! Race Details

$5.00 1ST TIMER DISCOUNT

BIKEIOWA.com will foot $5.00 of your entry fee if you are a first time cross racer. Yep, your $25 entry fee will be $20 for first time racers! Juniors will be only $5 to race! What an incentive! SPECTATOR FRIENDLY

Both races are VERY SPECTATOR Friendly!! If you have never been to a cyclocross race, you are missing out! There is action everywhere! A good cyclocross course allows you to see 80% of the course from one vantage point. Kick back for an afternoon and watch cyclocross!
