We had 187 racers line up on their mountain bikes for the opening race
of the 2015 IMBCS season. That’s 37 more racers than last year’s Illiniwek Abermination, or 25% growth year over year!

Mountain Biking

Distance - Each lap is 4.5 miles

The 2015 IMBCS Mountain Bike Race season kicks off with a return to the wonderfully flowing 4.5 mile loop of pristine, wooded singletrack on the Mississippi River bluffs at Illiniwek Forest Preserve in Hampton, IL. These trails are jam packed with flowing
corners, large berms, and ripping descents that are sure to please riders of all skill levels!

This race is part of the Illinois Homegrown Race Series and is also the opening round of the Iowa Mountain Bike Championship Series. Held under USA Cycling event permit. All USAC rules apply. Valid annual USAC License required for all Cat 1 racers. Single day license available for Cat 2 & Cat 3 racers for $10.

Directions: Just North of Hampton, IL on IL-84 or 2.2 miles west of I-80 on IL-84 (take the first/last exit entering/exiting Illinois). Trailhead, Sign-up, and Start/Finish area is on the south (bluff) side of State Ave/HWY 84.

Parking: Racer and spectator parking will be in the parking lot next to the baseball diamonds on the north (river) side of State Ave/HWY 84 immediately west of the trailhead.
