The eighth annual banquet of the Raccoon River Valley Trail Association will be held Saturday, Feb. 21st, at the West Des Moines Marriott Hotel, with fundraising auctions to support the promotion of the 89-mile paved trail in west central Iowa.

The social hour will start at 4:30 p.m., followed by a banquet meal, a speech by Dr. Richard Deming, a bicycling and fitness advocate who is founder of Above + Beyond Cancer.  There will be silent and live auctions of items that will have special appeal to trail users and supporters, and those will conclude after Deming's address.

The schedule for the evening:

  • 4:45 - Social Gathering with complimentary beer/cash bar
  • 5:30 - Sit down dinner
  • 7:00 - Dr. Richard Deming
  • 8:15 - Live Auction
The auctions and banquet are the RRVT Association’s only public fundraising event held each year, with all proceeds going toward the marketing, promotion and enhancement of the trail and its communities.
