Mountain Biking (RACE)

The Iowa Games Mountain Bike Race is an annual event that takes place just outside of Ames at Peterson Pits. This course is definitely "beginner-friendly". If you've been thinking about mountain biking this is a perfect course to start on! Iowa is one of 40 states nationwide which feature Olympic-style sports festivals known as State Games. This Mountain Bike Race is one of those events

Route

Cross country racing on approximately 5 miles of technical single track with curves and drops. The trails at Peterson Park also consist of rolling hills, open fields and sand. Multiple laps will be used for different ability levels. Number of laps will be determined the day of the event according to trail conditions and participation. Organizer reserves the right to combine categories if necessary. Athletes should bring water and/or water containers.
