Join us on June 3rd for a family-friendly bike ride touring the 50th Annual Parade of Homes! Riders of all ages are welcome and there will be multiple food and beverage stops along the way. Tour more than 20 homes on four different routes varying in length from 11 to 35 miles. We'll start with brunch at Iowa River Power Restaurant and end with drinks and giveaways at Rocky O'Brien's Public House in North Liberty. There will be drink specials at each stop when you show your Parade of Homes Bike Ride wristband.
Each stop will also host a silent auction with proceeds supporting the Kirkwood Architecture, Construction & Engineering (ACE) Academy. ACE is auctioning custom bike racks created by high school students in the program. Participants in the ACE program develop basic architecture and construction skills through hands-on laboratory and classroom experiences. Skills and knowledge developed in the program provide students with the necessary toolkit for further training or an entry-level career in the fields of architecture, construction and engineering. The ACE program takes place at the Kirkwood Regional centers in Hiawatha and Coralville and offers 12 college credits to high school students. Participation in the program guides students down the path of receiving a college certificate, degree, or entry-level career. All proceeds from bike racks sales will benefit the ACE program.
