TODAY IS THE LAST DAY TO REGISTER!
If you’re a newbie rider, and/or very out-of-shape or overweight, you might be interested in the Des Moines Cycle Club’s popular Pedal Off the Pounds program! This program is designed just for you! We start you off slow and easy. We teach you nutrition, bike etiquette, how to shift, how to change a tire and most of all…how to have FUN!
You’ll be divided into teams (think Biggest Loser style)… each meeting you’ll learn, be inspired and yes, even face a few fun team challenges! Oh…and did we mention that there are PRIZES involved?!
We meet every Monday evening May through August. You’ll be assigned to one of four teams. Each meeting there is a weigh-in, and either a short time with a speaker (Nutrition, inspiration, or instruction), OR a fun challenge before we go for a ride.
We’ll meet at various places around the metro. You’ll get to ride on all our wonderful trails and learn how easy it is to get around!
There will be weekly and monthly prizes for individuals and the teams, as well as an overall grand prize for the big winner at the end!

Meetings are every Monday evening May through August.
Because you’ll be on a team, and they will need you, please do not register if you cannot commit to this schedule.
PLEASE NOTE: This program is designed for those who are new(er) to riding and/or are out-of-shape. If you already ride regularly, you might find this program frustrating due to the shorter and slower miles.
