General Information

DATE: Saturday, July 22, 2017

TIMES:
Check In – 6:30 a.m.
Junior 12 & Under Class – 7:30 a.m.
Beginner/Novice Class – 8 a.m.
Sport/Expert Classes – 10 a.m.

NOTE: Racers must check in at least 30 minutes prior to scheduled start time.

SPECIAL NOTICE: State park permits are needed to enter Branched Oak State Recreation Area. One-day permits can be purchased at the park entrance.

COMPETITION FORMAT: The mountain bike course includes some rolling hills with a combination of dirt and grass surfaces. Distances listed are subject to change. 

RULES: All riders must wear ANSI-approved helmets. Riders are expected to ride safely and courteously. Director may shorten the distances in case of inclement weather.

Awards

MEDALS: Custom Cornhusker State Games gold, silver and bronze medals will be awarded to the top three finishers in each division.

DIRT ROULEUR AWARD:

DEFINITION: The rouleur is a consistent all-rounder who can ride well over most types of course.

AWARD: The Cornhusker State Games Dirt Rouleur Award is given to the male and female cyclist with the lowest (fastest) combined time in the Mountain Bike and Gravel Grinder events.

RULES:

All Dirt Rouleur competitors must race in the Expert division in Mountain Bike AND the Long Course event in the Gravel Grinder to be eligible for the award.

Competitors may choose geared or single-speed bicycles for their events. Cyclists are competing against all other Dirt Rouleur competitors, regardless of their (or your) chosen bicycle.

Two Dirt Rouleur award winners will be selected - one male, one female.

Decisions of race officials are final.

First event - $34
Additional events - $10

REGISTER BETWEEN JUNE 22 AND JULY 5:
First event - $39
Additional events - $10


MULTI-EVENT DISCOUNT NOTE: If registering for multiple events, all entries must occur in the same transaction to receive the multi-event discount.

MULTI-EVENT CYCLING DISCOUNT: All Mountain Bike participants who register for Gravel Grinder and/or Tour will receive a $7 discount per additional event by entering coupon code CYCLE at checkout. All registrations must take place on the same transaction to receive the discount.

ENTRY FEE INCLUDES: Competition in the 2017 Cornhusker State Games; White cotton athlete shirt (micro-fiber upgrade available); Pass for free admission to SportFest, the Opening Ceremonies, and all competition venues; 2017 Nebraska Sports Council Yearbook (available at packet pickup); Sponsor gifts and coupons.

PAPER ENTRY FORMS: Paper entry forms will be accepted with a $5 processing fee. Registering online saves time, money and trees.
